UK Delivery Charges

When you order your chocolates for a weekday delivery, our Standard Delivery option is just £3.95 per delivery address.

If you need your chocolates for a special occasion, or you just can’t wait to get stuck in, our Next Day and Named Day Delivery is just £6.95

Before you order, please take a look at the information below. If you need to talk to us about your order, please contact us on +44 (0)845 121 1911. We’re open from 8.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) and from 8.30am to 2.30pm on Saturdays, or contact us here and we’ll help you however we can.

 
 

Standard Deliveries 

Standard deliveries take 3-5 working days (Monday to Friday), starting from the first working day following the despatch date. If you place an order for Standard Delivery before 11am we’ll normally dispatch it that day, but if not, we’ll send it the next working day. You’ll be able to track your order 72 hours after dispatch. If nobody’s home to sign for your goods when we arrive, our driver may leave them in a secure location at his or her discretion.

 

Premium Delivery, Monday - Saturday

If you need your goodies in a hurry, Premium Delivery is our next day or named working day courier service with deliveries from 8.00am to 9.00pm, Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 2:00pm Saturday. To receive your goodies the next day, you will need to place your order before 4.00pm Monday - Friday. Please choose 'Named Day Delivery' if you wish for your goods to arrive on a Saturday.

For our bespoke ranges such as, Photo Boxes, 'Create Your Own' boxes or cards, you will need to place your order before 12.00pm midday Monday - Thursday if you want them delivered the following day.

If you are not going to be home within the delivery hours of 8.00am to 9.00pm Monday - Friday or 7:30am to 1:00pm Saturday, our courier will leave a calling card for you to rearrange a suitable time and date. If you know you or your recipients aren’t home during delivery hours, you could arrange delivery to an alternative address instead. If your goods become unsuitable as a result of non-delivery, we cannot accept liability.

We can guarantee a Next day delivery service to Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight.

There are some postcodes within the UK that our we are unable to offer next or named day delivery, instead your delivery will be made via our standard service and will be with you within 7 working days (Monday to Friday), starting from the first working day following the despatch date. If you place an order for Standard Delivery before 11am we’ll normally dispatch it that day, but if not, we’ll send it the next working day.

Business/Hospital Addresses

We know that people are busy and can’t always be available to receive a delivery (no matter how delicious it might be), so we’re more than happy to deliver to reception/post room/security areas and accept signatures from authorised representatives; however, this is only available with our  Premium Delivery option. For deliveries to hospitals, it’s best to check that they will accept the items you’ve ordered; hospitals don’t usually permit flower deliveries to Intensive Care Units, but some will place flowers outside the ward for the benefit of visiting families, whilst others refuse products to minimise risk of infections.

 

PO Box and Freepost Addresses

Unfortunately we can’t accept orders to addresses containing a PO Box number or FREEPOST addresses.

 

BFPO Addresses 

These orders are dispatched by Royal Mail and may be subject to delays, so we can’t guarantee delivery on a specific day.

 

Correct Address/Postcodes

We always use the exact address details you enter, so make sure to check you’ve given us the correct information before you place your order. If you’re unsure, try the Post Office address finder as we can’t accept liability for late or failed deliveries due to an incorrect address.

 

Weight Per Parcel

We can send as many products as you wish up to 10 kg per delivery charge. This is limited to 5 kg via the website for international deliveries, but you can call us on +44 (0) 845 121 1911 for orders exceeding this weight. Due to the nature of some products, additional delivery charges may apply.

 

International Deliveries

If you’re ordering for yourself or for a special someone outside of the UK, our delivery time will take up to 10 working days and unfortunatley we can’t guarantee delivery on specific dates. Unfortunately we cannot deliver alcohol, ceramics or flowers overseas.

Our products might be delicious but they’re also perishable. We have no control over the temperature or conditions of your order in transit, so cannot accept responsibility for melted/damaged products.

 

Customs Charges

It’s possible that Customs in other countries may add additional duties or charges, which we have no control over. The charges would be applied in the receiving country, so we cannot predict or influence what they may be. The recipient is responsible for paying these charges should they arise. We do our best to keep up with what’s happening in countries we deliver to, and we reserve the right to decline an order if we think it will be delivered unsafely, or if we think charges may be imposed.

 

US Food & Drug Administration

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently made changes to legislation relating to the importing of food into the USA. For each delivery we make to the USA, we’re obliged to submit additional documentation to the FDA – as such, we apply an additional £10.00 administrative charge to your order to cover this. This is automaticually included in the delivery charge.

Greetings Cards

Purchased Greeting cards will be dispatched with your order unless you order after 12 noon. Orders placed after this time will be dispatched on the next working day (Monday – Friday).

 

Photo Boxes and 'Create Your Own' Chocolate Boxes

For our bespoke ranges such as, Photo Boxes and 'Create Your Own' chocolate boxes, you will need to place your order before 12.00pm midday Monday - Thursday if you want them delivered the following day.

 

Easter Eggs, Models, Plaques & other shapes

Because these items are so fragile, we’re unfortunately unable to offer international delivery on orders containing these products.

 

Wine and Champagne Deliveries

We can only deliver items containing alcohol products to mainland UK addresses via our Premium Delivery Service. Please remember that it is an offence to purchase or attempt to purchase alcohol if you are under the age of 18. As you need to be at least 18 to buy alcohol, we are required to contact you to confirm your details before sending this product. Please make sure you provide a contact phone number when you place your order. For further information please contact us on +44 (0) 845 121 1911.

**Please note that we are currently unable to offer alcohol products for Saturday delivery**

 

Wedding & Party Favours

We want your big day to be perfect, and we know the last thing you need are damaged or perished wedding favours. As such, we will only dispatch wedding and party favours to UK addresses via our Premium Delivery service. We’ll also require notice of at least 5 working days to create and dispatch all the favours you need. For personalised favours, we’ll require notice of at least 21 working days. Flower Deliveries

Thorntons flower and chocolate gifts are available for future day delivery, order by 4pm (UK local time) for delivery the following day. Deliveries can be made Monday-Saturday and will be delivered by courier. Next day delivery can be delivered almost anywhere in mainland UK subject to availability. Unfortunately, international delivery and same-day delivery are not available at this time.

The standard Flower delivery on weekdays will be between the hours of 8am and 6pm. With this service, should your recipient not be at home, the courier will attempt to leave the flowers with a neighbour or in a safe place on the recipient’s property. However, if this is not possible, the courier will leave a ‘calling card’ detailing how they can be contacted to arrange a re-delivery.

Our Saturday service will be between the hours of 7:30am and 6pm. Unfortunately flower delivery service is not available on UK Public holidays. We cannot offer specific delivery times for any of our flower delivery options.

Please note that if additional products are ordered along with flower bouquets, these will all be delivered on the same day but not at the same time, as they are sent separately with different couriers.
