A Thorntons Franchisee is usually expected to turn
over a minimum of £100,000, however, there are instances where the
turnover is well over £200,000.
Franchise Fee - £15,000 - for use of the brand and expertise.
'Intent to Proceed' fee - £2,500
Project Management Cost, covered by the 'Intent to Proceed'
fee.
Fixtures, Fittings and Shopfit - an estimated cost for a Franchise
would be £30,000 to £40,000 however circumstances may arise where
these costs are higher or lower.
The discount on the product is 35% based on RRP (recommended retail
price), minus VAT.
The contract is for 5 years with a renewal option for a further 5
years at a renewal fee of £1,000.
Opening stock is between £8,000 and £25,000 dependent on time of
opening.
Labour costs are around 12% of sales annually.
Printed Point of Sale (POS) is provided free of charge.
Product Promotions - most of the promotions are funded by
Thorntons.
In the first year of trading we operate a "seasonal product
clearance" policy during the main seasons for seasonal
specialities.
