Returning customers who have already registered with the site
should log in on the left hand side of the homepage by clicking
onto the 'Login' button then entering your e-mail address and
password. Customers can also choose to log-in at any point during
their visit, however before an order can be processed all customers
will be required to either log-in, or to register as a new
customer. To register as a customer you are required to enter your
details in the fields provided.
Address: enter your e-mail address in the first box.
Password: enter your chosen password in the second box. Your
password should be easy for you to remember (for security reasons
please do not write down your password or reveal it to anyone
else).
You will then pass to the next screen where you will be required to
complete your contact details, address, postcode, country of
residence and telephone number, which should include your regional
code.
Mailings: You can opt in or out of receiving mailings from
Thorntons and associated companies.
When you have completed the form select the 'SUBMIT' button at the
bottom of the form to conclude your registration. Once you have
logged in, you will receive the options to continue shopping. You
can change your personal details, including your mailing
preference, at any time by choosing 'Account' on the left hand
menu.
How to shop online
Browse
Browse by using the categories and accompanying images at the left
of the screen. A sub-menu will appear when you click each category,
for example; Chocolates Collections; reveals: Continental, Eden by
Thorntons, Diabetic Collection, Thorntons Classics and Dessert
Gallery.
Gift Search
To search for a specific product, enter a word or phrase into the
search field (located in the top left-hand corner) and press the
'Go' key. If you have a Thorntons catalogue or know the product
code of the item you are looking for, you can enter it here.
The search will look for products that match all of the words (or
the product code) you enter. The results of your search will then
be displayed in the centre of your screen. To find out more
information about the products, click the image or title of the
product, or the 'more info' button. You may also add these products
to your basket by selecting the 'Buy Now' button. If no results are
returned try searching using a different word or spelling.
Gift Finder
You can also view our selected range of gifts by Price, Occasion or
Person. Simply choose the option you require from the drop down
list in the Browse By menu on the left hand side of the
screen.

The display of our Top 5 best sellers, extra special gifts and
offers are changed on a regular basis to help you find exactly the
right gift for your needs. Click on them to get further information
or to add to your basket.
Product Details
You can find out more information about any product by clicking on
the title, the i button, or the image of the product. You will be
presented with a product description and a large product
image.
The Checkout
Once you have passed into our secure order process you will be met
with a sequence of pages to complete, as follows:
Step 1 - Log-in/register
Here you will be asked to log-in with your email address and
password, or if you haven't already registered with Thorntons you
will be asked to give us your personal details and choose a
password. If you have already logged in before getting to this
stage of your order, you will not be shown this page.
Step 2 - Invoice Address
At this stage you will be asked to fill in your address details. If
you have already registered you will not be required to do
this.
Step 3 - Payment Method
The payment screen requires you to enter the details of your debit
or credit card. You must enter the name and address of the
cardholder. These fields will automatically be populated with the
details you entered when you registered - if these are incorrect
please choose another set of cardholder details from the list. The
addresses in the list can be edited in exactly the same way as
those in your address book at the delivery details stage.
Step 4 - Delivery Options
At this stage you will be asked to choose an address to send your
order to from a drop-down list. The list will contain your own
address and the address of anyone you have sent items to in the
past. If you would like to send your order to an address that does
not appear in the list, please choose 'add new address' and enter
the recipient's details here.
If you would like to send something to an address that appears in
the list, yet you would like to make a change to this address,
choose the recipient from the list and then choose 'edit address'
and make the necessary changes.
Should you wish to send the same order to a different recipient -
you can choose the 'Send to more than one address' option. You will
also have the option to Gift Wrap your items at this stage
selecting the 'Add Giftwrap' buttons.
You can also enter a gift message on this page that you would like
sent with your parcel. If you would not like a gift message to be
sent please leave the boxes blank.
This stage of the process allows you to chose an appropriate
delivery date and cost for your order. Initially, you will be
presented with a calendar; from which you should choose the date
you wish your order to be delivered.
Unfortunately, we are unable to deliver on certain days including
Bank Holidays - these days will be displayed as greyed out days on
the calendar.
Should you require your gift to be delivered for a seasonal event,
such as Christmas, please choose the seasonal option - this will
ensure that your gift arrives in time for the event and your parcel
will have a message on it informing the recipient that it is not to
be opened until the date of the event.
International Orders
If your order is for delivery outside the UK, your delivery charge
will be calculated according to the weight of the goods in your
order. Although you can specify a date for the delivery of your
order we cannot guarantee that any orders to be delivered outside
the UK will arrive on the chosen date, however, we will do our
utmost to deliver your goods as close as possible to this
date.
Step 6 - Thank You
This page confirms that you have successfully placed your order
with Thorntons. Please take note of the order number given to you
at this stage and use it in any further correspondence you may have
with us. Please print out the printer friendly summary from this
page for your own records.
You can return to the home page at the prompt. You also have the
option to be reminded of this date next year by ticking the box as
requested.
